In a bid to strengthen child safety and responsible citizenship in schools, the Cyberabad Police, in collaboration with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and non-profit organisation Sankalp, launched ‘Suraksha Kavach’ Safety Clubs across more than 30 SSC schools under the Serilingampally Schools Association on Saturday (November 22, 2025).

The Safety Clubs are designed to be structured, student-led and teacher-guided platforms that promote physical safety, cyber awareness, mental health, road safety, civic sense and prevention of substance abuse. Students will take part in activities, workshops, competitions and community programmes using the Suraksha Kavach School Safety Handbook developed by SCSC and its partners.

Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gajarao Bhupal, formally inaugurated the initiative and addressed school leaders, teachers and students, emphasising the need to build a culture of safety, awareness and collective responsibility within educational institutions. He stressed that school safety cannot rest with the police alone and called for greater collaboration between schools, families, civil society and industry.

Representatives from Sankalp said the clubs must grow into active forums where students learn to move from bystanders to upstanders, report concerns and practise responsible behaviour both online and offline. With the launch across 30 schools, officials hope to create a model cluster of safe schools in Serilingampally, with plans to expand the initiative across Cyberabad in the months ahead.
