Sridhar Babu refutes KTR’s charges, says Cong. govt. not doling out largesse like BRS

Strongly refuting the charges made by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said that the Congress Government was not doling out largesse indiscriminately like the previous government.

Mr. Sridhar Babu alleged that the deals signed and the orders issued by the previous BRS regime smacked of irregularities but the Congress Government was ensuring transparency in the administration. Government had planed to give 9,292 acre land lying idle at cheaper rates to entrepreneurs to encourage industries in line with the decision taken by the State Cabinet.

The previous government had in fact issued orders in 2023 facilitating transfer of lands.

“We have decided to allot the lands in accordance with the GOs issued by the previous government. But Mr. Rama Rao is speaking without understanding the difference between freehold and land lease,” he said.

He recalled that the previous government had transferred vast extents of land in the name of industrial development and said that the Congress Government was attracting investments offering concessions to investors. “Those having freehold land will apply for the scheme proposed by the government,” he said.

The BRS leaders were trying to mislead people by spreading lies against the Congress Government. They (the BRS leaders) have become desperate since the drubbing of the party in the recent bypoll in Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency. Mr. Rama Rao was trying to obstruct investments coming into the State as he and his party were against the development of Telangana.

He advised the BRS working president to make charges only if he had sufficient proof, rather than levelling baseless allegations against the government. “The people who were named by Mr. Rama Rao are not there in the present government. We are ready to initiate action against any one if he submits proofs for his charges,” he said.
