Telangana students bag 230 medals in EMRS National sports meet; CM Revanth Reddy felicitates winners

Telangana achieved a remarkable sporting triumph by clinching the overall championship at the 4th Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) National Sports Meet-2025 held in Odisha.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy congratulated the students for their exceptional performance, describing the victory as a proud moment for the State. Minister Adluri Lakshman and senior officials were also present during the felicitation of the winning contingents.

In a record-breaking achievement, Telangana secured 230 medals across a wide range of disciplines including athletics, archery, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, judo, wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, yoga, shooting and chess. The contingent showcased excellence in both individual and team events, reaffirming the State’s growing strength in sports at the national level.

A total of 580 students from 23 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) represented Telangana at the event. Their outstanding efforts helped the State amass 714 points, placing Telangana at the top of the national rankings.

This year’s Sports Meet saw participation from 5,500 students representing 499 EMRS institutions across 22 states. Competitions were conducted in 22 sports categories, comprising 15 individual and 7 team events.
