Even as farmers and fisherfolk have begun to get back to normalcy after the trail of destruction left behind by Cyclone Montha, there is a possibility of the formation of another cyclone over the Bay of Bengal next week. This time, too, the cyclone is likely to move towards Andhra Pradesh coast.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area is likely to form around Novemeber 22 over Southeast Bay of Bengal and it is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into depression on November 24 over the central parts of South Bay of Bengal and continue to move west northwest wards and intensify further into a cyclone over southwest Bay of Bengal around November 26. It is likely to move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast.

Under the influence of the weather system, Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive moderate rain between November 26 and 29, with isolated heavy rain on November 26. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in these two regions on November 27 and 28. Moderate rain may continue till November 30.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has sounded a caution and has asked the farmers to harvest crops immediately.

Meanwhile, the State, which has seen a drop in temperatures recently, may see an increase in the minimum temperatures. There will not be a rise everywhere in the State, but it may be influenced by the upcoming system in the Bay of Bengal, said the authorities.
