The Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) arrested two persons and seized twelve logs from a car at Bhudanam toll plaza on the Tirupati-Naidupeta highway on Wednesday. Based on instructions from the Task Force head L. Subbarayudu, the police were conducting a vehicular check at the spot, when they spotted a car slowing down in a suspicious manner upon sighting the squad.

When two persons got down from the car and tried to flee, the police personnel detained them and found twelve redsander logs hidden in the vehicle. The accused hailed from Vellore district in Tamil Nadu.

Superintendent of Police (RSASTF) P. Srinivas had the logs shifted to their headquarters in Tirupati. Deputy Superintendent V. Srinivasa Reddy and Assistant Conservator of Forest J. Srinivas interrogated the arrested.
