A roundtable organised by the CPI (M) district committee in Khammam on Wednesday resolved to organise a protest (Deeksha) in the town on November 25 to press for immediate arrest of the assailants, who stabbed the party veteran leader Samineni Rama Rao to death, last month.

The roundtable was attended by the leaders of various political parties including the CPI, the BRS and the CPI (ML) Mass Line, barring the Congress and the BJP.

It further resolved to organise a phase-wise agitation demanding expeditious investigation to bring the killers of Rama Rao to justice.

Addressing the roundtable, the CPI (M) State secretariat member P. Sudarshan Rao termed the killing of Rama Rao, the former State committee member of the CPI (M) united Andhra Pradesh, in his native Patharlapadu village in Khammam district on October 31, 2025, a “political murder.”

“It has been unanimously resolved to hold a “Deeksha” in Khammam on November 25 to protest against the delay in the arrest of the assailants even 20 days after the gruesome murder of Comrade Rama Rao,” he added.

BRS Khammam district president Tata Madhusudhan, former MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, CPI district secretary D. Suresh and CPI (ML) Mass Line district secretary G. Venkateshwarlu were among those who attended the roundtable.
