The Tamil Nadu government is set to sign a fresh round of investment agreements at the third ‘TN Rising Conclave’, scheduled to be held in Coimbatore on November 25. The conclave will focus on key sectors including electronics, general manufacturing, textiles, and aerospace and defence.

“Coimbatore is now at the cusp of transforming from an industrial hub into a holistic economic engine, which will host global GCCs (Global Capability Centers) and modern industries. By bringing global investors directly to the region, we enable local talent, infrastructure and MSME ecosystems to connect with global value chains,” said Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa.

“The conclave will be the third regional investment summit in Tamil Nadu after Thoothukudi and Hosur, deliberately shifting the spotlight away from Chennai and reinforcing our commitment to distributed growth,” he added.

Currently, Coimbatore is home to more than 25 GCCs, many information technology firms have expanded their presence here in recent years. The city has also seen a surge in home-grown start-ups. A clear indicator of this momentum is the rising demand for office space across the region.

“This year, Coimbatore has witnessed steady absorption of 7 lakh sq.ft till January to September 2025. While there is more demand for office space, the supply is very limited. Currently, the vacancy is less than 4%. Around 2 million sq.ft of office space is currently under approval, and this is expected to cater to the growing demand in the city,” said Jerry Kingsley, head, value and risk advisory-India and head, capital markets-Chennai, Jones Lang LaSalle.

Smaller players

“Smaller players are also expected to venture into office space to fill the gap. These office spaces are proposed to be built as a standalone office buildings of 1 lakh to 2 lakh sq.ft. On the other hand, the city has seen the advent of institutional developers with an intention to create larger tech parks,” he added.

The first TN Rising event was held in Thoothukudi, where the State government signed MoUs worth ₹32,554 crore. The second edition, held in Hosur, saw the signing of investment deals totalling ₹24,307 crore.
