Adilabad Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan on Tuesday (November 18) launched the road safety club initiative at a programme held in Mannur village in Gudihathnoor mandal of Adilabad district.

According to the police, the initiative is aimed at reducing road accidents by at least 30% across Adilabad district.

The initiative envisages formation of road safety clubs with residents of villages along the national and State highways, dhaba owners, workers and staff of the fuel outlets and other stakeholders. Initially, around 450 such clubs have been formed in various mandals of the district.

These clubs will organise awareness programmes on road safety and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), identify accident-prone spots in their respective villages and report to the concerned authorities for appropriate action to prevent road accidents.
