A minor rockfall on Tirumala’s second ghat road triggered a serious accident on Tuesday (ovember 18), leaving a local resident, Lokesh with severe injuries. The incident occurred near the Harini vanam, when a small boulder, dislodged from the hillside, struck him on his head while he was motoring up to the town on his motorcycle. The impact was such that he briefly fell unconscious and also sustained severe injuries on his head and body.

The passers-by immediately alerted the TTD security and vigilance officials who in turn rushed him to the Aswini Hospital in Tirumala and shifted down to SVIMS for better medical care. However, his condition is said to be stable.

Later he was identified as Lokesh working as a vendor at the TTD luggage centre atop the town.
