Saudi Arabia bus crash: Hubballi resident among the dead

One of the 45 persons who died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia was from Hubballi in Karnataka.

Abdul Ghani Shirahatti, 55, a resident of Ganesh Peth in Hubballi, had been working as a driver at a hotel in Dubai. He had travelled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. He was among those who died on the spot in the collision involving the pilgrims’ bus and a diesel tanker.

The bus hit a tanker near Mufrihat in Saudi Arabia on November 17.

The bus was packed with pilgrims who were travelling from Makkah to Madinah. Mr. Shirahatti was among the passengers who died.

Most of the victims in this accident are said to be from Hyderabad, Telangana.

Hubballi police are collecting more details.
