Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy criticised Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar for making “irresponsible and divisive remarks unbecoming of a Union Minister”.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, he alleged that Mr. Sanjay had “forgotten the dignity of the office he holds” and continues to make provocative statements. He criticised the BJP leader for claiming that all Hindus, irrespective of the party they belong to, should support the BJP.

Accusing the Union Minister of trying to inflame caste and religious tensions, he said that people of Telangana are wise enough to decide whom to vote for. He reminded that Congress candidate Naveen Yadav won the Jubilee Hills bypoll with the support of all communities, not just one caste or religion. “Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy gave a ticket to a BC candidate, and the people embraced him,” the MP said.

Mr. Reddy also reminded that the BJP lost its deposit and that too in a constituency represented by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. He requested the Union Ministers to focus on securing funds for Telangana instead of polarising communties.
