Responding to the RSS route march taken out in his home constituency, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi in-charge Minister Priyank Kharge said the organisation had been compelled to conduct its march strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the district administration.

Speaking to the media at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Sunday, he said that the administration had determined every aspect of the event — the number of participants allowed, the prescribed route, and who could be present. “Everything is decided by the administration,” he remarked.

When asked whether this episode indicated an ongoing confrontation between him and the RSS, Mr. Kharge said the process had “only just begun.”

He reiterated that the RSS was not a registered organisation and that once it fell within the tax net, its collections, including “gurudakshine”, would come under audit. “They call it ‘gurudakshine’. But if the organisation is not registered, shouldn’t the accounts of those contributing to it also be audited?” he asked.

Mr. Kharge also alleged misuse of KKRDB funds by RSS-linked individuals in Kalaburagi during the previous BJP government. “I will soon place documents before you showing how RSS people looted KKRDB money in Kalaburagi,” he said.
