A parked car under the railway overbridge at Nimboli Adda in Kacheguda triggered panic on Thursday night after locals suspected it contained explosives. The incident, which occurred around 7.30 p.m., led to heavy traffic congestion on both sides of the road, coming just days after the Delhi Red Fort blast heightened public anxiety across the country.

An officer from the Kachiguda police said that an unidentified man parked a grey car, TS 11UA 7868, across the road and left the spot.

Locals, finding the situation suspicious, alerted the Kacheguda police. Officers immediately cordoned off the area and stopped anyone from approaching the vehicle. The bomb squad was called in, and after thorough checks, confirmed that there were no explosives inside.

The car, registered to one Madaksira Feroz Khan, showed six pending challans worth ₹2,575 since May 2024, including five for wrongful parking, and one for over-speeding.

Police subsequently traced the current owner, Balaji Raghunath, who admitted he had not updated the registration and had rented the vehicle to someone. “He claims not to know the details of the person he rented it to. We are investigating,” said a Kacheguda police officer.
