Both the Congress and AAP attacked the government on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) over alleged security lapses that “led to the blast at the Red Fort” which left over a dozen people dead. This came as Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

“Those permanently disabled due to the blast will receive ₹5 lakh, the seriously injured ₹2 lakh, and those with minor injuries ₹20,000,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement
The CPI(M)’s Delhi unit has urged people to stand united against terrorism and against the politics of hatred that seeks to divide society. The party also appealed to the people of Delhi to maintain peace and unity, and not to fall prey to provocations.
Delegations from both the Congress and the AAP visited the injured people at the LNJP Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
Hospital denies ambulance
The AAP said that sympathy over social media has no value if the government cannot even provide ambulances for families to take the dead bodies home. There were complaints that the LNJP Hospital did not provide ambulances to the families of the deceased on Monday.
After meeting injured victims and aggrieved families, AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj said that whenever a major tragedy occurs, leaders in power issue formal statements expressing condolences and prayers for the bereaved families and injured.
“But these messages should not just be for Twitter, WhatsApp, or Facebook. The government must mean what it says. When a family loses someone, typing out a message of condolence has no value if the government cannot even provide an ambulance to carry the deceased home,” he said.
Mr. Bharadwaj pointed out that Delhi’s largest hospital, the one visited by the Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister, who both claimed that “everything is fine,” could not arrange an ambulance for the poor families who lost their loved ones. “If the government does not have ambulances for such victims, it is extremely shameful and painful,” he said.
Warnings ignored
Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav met the injured and said, “Congress has been raising questions about Delhi’s law and order, which were not taken seriously, and the city is now facing this tragedy in which many innocent people have lost their lives.”
He also demanded that the government pay a compensation of ₹50 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹5 lakh each to the injured.
“There is a BJP government in both Delhi and Haryana, and there have been no answers from the Home Minister on questions linked to the blast; and the Pahalgam terror attack suspects are still at large,” he said.
The AAP also alleged that the law and order situation of Delhi was in shambles.
There was no response from the Delhi BJP to these allegations.
