The Ernakulam district administration’s weekend drive targeting to accelerate fieldworks relating to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls seems to have paid off. The officials have succeeded in distributing enumeration forms to 3,05,780 voters in two days, almost double the number of the forms issued in the previous four days.

A total of 6,27,009 forms have been distributed in the district till Sunday (November 9, 2025), accounting for 23.63% of the total voters. In the initial four days of fieldwork from November 4 to 7, 3,21,229 forms were distributed, covering 12.11%.

District Collector G. Priyanka had on Friday (November 7, 2025) announced that the entire SIR machinery, including senior officials, would be deployed during the weekend for fieldwork to speed up the procedures. She said the plan was to visit as many voters as possible, as people were expected to be at home during the weekend. Notably, the Collector was also on the ground on Sunday, visiting households in Thammanam and Palarivattom along with booth-level officers (BLOs) tasked with distributing the enumeration forms to each voter. Voters have to fill up the forms and return them to the BLOs concerned when they visit the houses next time. A total of 2,325 BLOs—one per booth—have been deployed for the fieldwork in the district.

As per the post-weekend figures, the maximum number of enumeration forms were distributed in the Kunnathunad Assembly constituency — 59,441, accounting for 31.30% of the total voters. In Vypeen, 53,480 forms (31.75%) were distributed.

Aluva, where 58,677 forms (29.12%) have been distributed, and Angamaly, with 53,635 forms (29.83%), continue to top the list, while the Ernakulam Assembly segment, with its sizeable urban population, still lags behind. In Ernakulam, forms have been distributed to only 29,461 voters, accounting for 17.72% of the total 1,66,283 electors. Before the weekend drive, the figures in Ernakulam stood at just 12,650 (7.61%). Notably, the highest number of booths where fewer than 100 forms were distributed is in Ernakulam — 22 in total.
