Marking the 150th anniversary of the composition of India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’, police personnel from Chittoor and Sri Sathya Sai districts celebrated the occasion on Friday, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and national unity across Rayalaseema.

In Chittoor, a gathering led by Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi assembled at the Gandhi Bomma Circle, where over a thousand students, officials from various government departments, and the public joined in singing the national song together.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional SP (Operations) S.R. Rajasekhar Raju said that ‘Vande Mataram’ is not just a patriotic anthem, but a powerful reminder of India’s spirit and unity. He urged students and youth to carry forward the song’s message of unity and sacrifice, which was penned by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875.

In Puttaparthi, the Sri Sathya Sai district police conducted their celebrations at the district police grounds. Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar, Additional SP Ankita Surana Mahavir, along with other senior police officers and staff, took part in rendering the national song. The SP encouraged both the police personnel and the public to uphold patriotic values and serve the nation with unwavering commitment.
