Advocates of Hassan, under the banner of the Hassan Advocates Association, staged a protest against Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari.

The advocates were dissatisfied with the Ms. Lathakumari as she did not meet them during their demonstration on Wednesday against a seer for his objectionable comments about the judiciary.

The advocates formed a human chain at N.R. Circle in the city and stopped vehicular movement on the road. Later, they assembled on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and raised slogans against the officer and demanded that she apologise for her conduct.

Karle Moganna Gowda, president of the association, said that during their protest on Wednesday, Ms. Lathakumari did not come out of the office to receive the advocates’ memorandum. She did not turn up even after the advocates waited for a long time. “We will complain against the Deputy Commissioner to the Chief Secretary and others, and demand action against her,” he said.
