Students of Sharnbasva University and Appa Public School organised a walkathon here on Sunday to mark the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week.

The event, organised by the Faculty of Business Studies, aimed to spread awareness about the need to curb corruption and uphold the rights of women and weaker sections of society.

The walkathon was flagged off by Vice-Chancellor Anilkumar Bidve, Registrar S.G. Dollegoudar, Dean Lakshmi Patil Maka and Registrar (Evaluation) S.H. Honnalli, who also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, on the university’s main campus.

Carrying placards with messages promoting integrity, equality and social justice, the students raised slogans calling for vigilance against corruption in all walks of life.

The march concluded at Sharnbasaveshwar Samsthan where the participants took an oath to remain vigilant against corrupt practices and to work towards protecting the rights of women and marginalised communities.
