Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Killi Krupa Rani on Wednesday flayed the TDP, JSP, and YSRCP for supporting NDA in the recently-concluded Vice-Presidential elections. Addressing a press conference here, Ms. Krupa Rani termed the development as unfortunate.

“Both the ruling and opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh have become pawns of BJP out of fear, and have failed to stand up for the rights of the State and the interests of the people,” she alleged.

The former Minister deplored that despite enjoying a sweeping majority in the Assembly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had surrendered to the Centre and ignored the long pending demands. “Why are the political parties in A.P. not questioning Prime Minister Modi on issues like special category status, package for the backward Rayalaseema region, and on the issues of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Polavaram project, and the Metropolitan Corridor?” she asked.

Ms. Krupa Rani said that the coalition government had no moral authority to campaign about the ‘Super Six’ initiatives as ‘Super Hit’, as the parties had blatantly ignored the fundamental promises.
