As many as 87 candidates from Mysuru division were issued appointment letters on their selection for various Central government services at the 17th Rozgar Mela held in the city on Friday.

Mysuru was one of the 40 locations across the country where the Rozgar Mela was conducted and candidates who received the appointment letters were from different districts in the Mysuru division.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the new recruits virtually and announced that across the country, more than 51,000 young people were issued appointment letters. The Prime Minister, in his address, said that the new recruits have not only received government employment, but also the opportunity to actively contribute to the growth of the nation.

It was pointed out that more than 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued through such Rozgar Melas in the recent past. Authorities said that recruitment was being undertaken by various Ministries, departments, and organisations across States and Union Territories, and they will act as a catalyst in future employment generation to provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in nation building.

Among the various Ministries and departments which recruited candidates included the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Department of Financial Services; Central public-sector enterprises like Power Grid Corporation of India, ONGC, and GAIL; Ministry of Home Affairs; Ministry of Railways; Department of Posts; Department of Higher Education; etc.

The event in Mysuru was held at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) and the organisers said that the new appointees will get an opportunity to train themselves through ‘Karmayogi Prarambh’, an online module on the iGOT Karmayogi portal where more than 3,600 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning.

T.S. Srivatsa, MLA; Pushpavathi, Director, AIISH; K. Prakash, Chief Post Master General, Karnataka; Chandrashekar Kakumanu, Postmaster General, South Karnataka; Shammas Hameed, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru; were among those present.
