Sexual assault: man sentenced to five years in jail

A 45-year-old man who was convicted for sexually abusing three minor school girls was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment by the Nadapuram Fast-track Special Court on Wednesday (October 22, 2025).

The man, identified as K.V.C. Abdul Salam, was also slapped with a fine of ₹60,000 by special judge K. Noushad Ali. The incident leading to Abdul Salam‘s arrest took place on July 4, 2023. Based on complaints by the survivors, three separate cases were registered at the Meppayur police station. Inspector P. Jamsheed and Sub-Inspector K.B. Athulya investigated the case and filed the chargesheet. Special Public Prosecutor Manoj Aroor appeared for the prosecution.
