A man in Adilabad district ended his life on Tuesday, weeks after his wife died in distress following a domestic quarrel during Dasara festival.

According to the an officer from Jagtial police, Santhosh Allepu, 25, a resident of Erddandiki village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Jagtial, married Gangotri, who lived near his house, on September 26, after a four-year relationship.

“On October 2, the couple visited Gangotri’s parents’ house to celebrate Dasara. During lunch that day, Santhosh reportedly scolded his wife, saying the mutton curry she had prepared was too spicy. Upset over the argument, Gangotri ended her life later that night,” said the officer.

Since then, Santhosh was deeply troubled and went to stay with his sister in Adilabad district centre about a week ago. On Tuesday afternoon, when no one was at home, he killed himself.
