A case has been registered by the Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad, against two YouTube channels for creating and posting indecent content featuring minors. Officials said that the videos amounted to child exploitation and violated the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar issued a stern warning to content creators, stating that freedom on social media does not permit the creation or sharing of objectionable material. “When values fade in the illusion of views, what are we becoming? How justifiable is it to risk children’s futures for likes?” he said, urging creators to reflect on the moral cost of chasing online popularity.

Mr. Sajjanar stressed that involving minors in inappropriate or suggestive videos is a serious offence under both the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act. He advised digital creators to focus on producing responsible and positive content that can inspire rather than mislead young audiences.

He further appealed to parents to remain vigilant about the kind of online content their children consume and to ensure a safe digital environment at home. Citizens have been urged to report any such indecent content to the National Cyber Crime Portal or through the helpline number 1930.

Following the Commissioner’s warning, several YouTube and Instagram channels reportedly deleted the objectionable videos.
