The 91 Infantry Brigade, Pangode Military Station, celebrated its 59th raising day on Wednesday (October 1).

A wreath laying ceremony was organised at the War Memorial at Pangode to mark the occasion. Brigadier Anurag Upadhyay, Station Commander, laid a wreath at war memorial and paid homage to martyrs.

This brigade is the Indian Army’s only ‘amphibious brigade.’

The 91 Infantry Brigade was raised on October 1, 1966, at Secunderabad and it was re-located to Pangode in March 1990. The Brigade had participated in Operation Cactus Lilly from 1971 to 1973 and Operation Pawan in 1987.

The 91 Infantry Brigade also has the unique distinction of being the most decorated brigade, a statement said.
