7th edition of businessline Changemaker Awards to be held in Mumbai on September 26

The seventh edition of businessline Changemaker Awards will be held on Friday.

The chief guest for the event, to be held in Mumbai, is Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas.

A total of 1,807 nominations were received across five categories — Changemaker of the Year, Young Changemaker, Changemaker – Digital Transformation, Changemaker – Social Transformation, and Changemaker — Financial Transformation.

For the sixth category, Iconic Changemaker, nominees were chosen by the businessline team and knowledge partners, Deloitte and Ashoka Innovators for the Public, after a thorough discussion.

In addition, businessline’s Chairperson’s Award goes to an entity that is carrying on exemplary work in education.

The nominees were vetted by the businessline’s validation partner, Niiti Consulting.

The winners in each category were selected by an eminent jury at a meeting held in Chennai. The jury this year was chaired by D. Subbarao, former Governor of RBI.

The other jury members were Harish Bhat, former Brand Custodian, Tata Sons; A. Balasubramanian, MD & CEO, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund AMC; Lakshmi Venu, Vice-Chairman, TAFE; N.S. Nappinai, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court; Chetna Gala Sinha, Chairperson, Mann Deshi Mahila Bank; and J. Radhakrishnan, Chairman & MD, Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation.
