Four Nepalese nationals were arrested after a street fight on the footpath outside the Vidhana Soudha Metro Station in Bengaluru was captured on video and went viral on social media.

The incident occurred at around 5.45 p.m. on June 28. According to the police, a verbal altercation broke out between two groups after one group allegedly objected to the other causing a disturbance during a photo session. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, with the men allegedly using helmets and wooden sticks to assault each other.

A passerby recorded an 18-second video of the brawl, which spread widely on social media, drawing public attention.

Taking cognisance of the viral video, the Vidhana Soudha police registered a suo motu case and launched an investigation.

The arrested men have been identified as Shakti, Ishwar, Dipendra, and another man from Baitadi district, Nepal. The police said the accused are employed as private security guards and hotel workers in K.R. Puram and Banaswadi. All four were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody. The police said further investigation into the incident is underway.

In November last year, the Vidhana Soudha police had arrested as many as 11 Nepali nationals while two minors were detained in connection with a clash that broke out between two groups in front of Vidhana Soudha.
