Telangana Housing Board received a large number of applications for the single bed rooms flats in Gachibowli earmarked for Lower Income Groups (LIG). They have received 2,685 applications for 111 flats there. Lotteries to allot the properties would be held on Tuesday (January 6, 2026). Only people with monthly income less than ₹50,000 were eligible to apply.

Authorities said that the lottery procedure would be streamed online on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/live/gCBIRWz8qt0) and other digital platforms, and informed that the people would not be allowed to the venue of the lottery. The decision was taken considering lack of space, and for security purposes, as per a press note. The procedure would be video recorded.

Besides the flats in Gachibowli, the Housing Board in December also sought applications for the allotment of 102 flats near Warangal Railway Station and 126 flats in Sri Ram Hills in Khammam. A total of 3,096 applications were received for all 339 flats till December 3 evening, including the 388 applications for the properties in Warangal.  It was announced that the last date to submit an application for the flats in Khammam was extended to January 8.

While arrangements are being made to hold the lottery for the flats in Warangal would be held on January 8, the procedure would be conducted on January 10 for the properties in Khammam.
