Ten people were killed in a tragic road accident on the Sisaiya-Lakhimpur National Highway, situated between the villages of Unchgaon and Bharehta in Lakhimpur Kheri district. The van transporting passengers from Lakhimpur to Sisaiya collided head-on with a truck travelling in the opposite direction. All nine passengers aboard the van, along with the driver, perished in the accident.

A school teacher returning to work, a young engineer preparing to depart for a job in the Gulf, and a daily wage laborer supporting his struggling family were among the ten individuals who lost their lives, leaving families across three districts devastated.

Uttar Pradesh BJP president and Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary expressed grief over the accident. “The loss of life in the road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri district is deeply saddening. My deepest condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to God to give place to the departed souls in his feet and provide strength to the bereaved families in difficult times and speedy recovery to the injured,” he wrote on X.
