A feature film titled Chand Tara based on Taramati, the 17th-century singer and dancer of the Qutb Shahi era is set to be produced by Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation in collaboration with Telangana Tourism. The film aims to position Hyderabad and Telangana as regions steeped in history and brimming with potential, said Mohammed Ali Baig of the foundation.

“For two decades, the Theatre Foundation has stood as a beacon of artistic excellence, nurturing Hyderabad’s cultural soul through the magic of theatre,” said Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. “The launch of Chand Tara continues this tradition by honouring our shared heritage,” he said

The evening concluded with a musical tribute to the city, a Qawwali performance titled Yeh Hyderabad Hai Doston, written by the late poet Ashraf Mehli, composed by Kartik Raja, and rendered by Aadir Hussain Khan. Another piece, Piya Baaj Piyala, written by the 17th-century poet-king Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, was also performed, drawing the event to a soulful close.
