A.H. Vishwanath, MLC, sought to know from the Congress what harm the RSS has caused to Karnataka.

Reacting to the government’s restrictions on RSS activities in public places like schools and offices here on Thursday, Mr. Vishwanath said that the criticism of RSS and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar by some Congress leaders lacked rationale. “What harm has RSS done to the State or the country?”, questioned Mr. Vishwanath.

Taking a dig at Congress leader Hariprasad, Mr. Vishwanath said that the former keeps criticising Savarkar not knowing that he had spent 10 years in Andaman jail.

Referring to Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT and BT, who sought a ban on RSS activities on public properties, Mr. Vishwanath said that “junior Kharge was raking up irrelevant issues” which has nothing to do with his ministry.

‘’Priyank Kharge was elected by the people in the hope that he would emulate his father Mallikarjun Kharge. Instead, he is raking up issues not concerned with him in his quest to become a national leader,” said Mr. Vishwanath. Political leaders have ignored development issues and have become motormouths, he added.
