The Christian Medical College (CMC) organised a evacuation drill at its new campus in Puttuthakku village near Arcot town in Ranipet on Tuesday.

According to a press release, Seema Agarwal, Director, Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS), was the chief guest at the event. A comprehensive evacuation drill was conducted by TNFRS in coordination with the CMC fire fighters’ team and the CMC critical response team.

The exercise included mock firefighting, first-aid demonstrations, and rescue operations, highlighting the importance of preparedness in managing fire accidents and life safety emergencies in the hospital premises.

Ms. Agarwal witnessed the drill and appreciated the efforts taken by the teams to ensure safety readiness within the campus. The initiative reflected the joint commitment of TNFRS and CMC towards strengthening emergency response capabilities and creating a culture of fire safety awareness in hospital buildings, the release said.
