In a post on X, the JD(S) said that the 92-year-old leader had been ordered to rest for 15 more days by the doctors, and requested leaders, party workers and his supporters to refrain from paying a visit to his residence to meet him.

“Once Mr. Gowda is well-rested, he will personally come to the party headquarters in J.P. Bhavan and meet everyone,” it added.

Speaking to The Hindu following his hospitalisation, Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Bengaluru Rural MP and Mr. Deve Gowda’s son-in-law, had said, “He developed a high fever with chills due to UTI. His renal parameters were also deranged and he required hospital care. He may have to remain in the ICU for one or two days before being shifted to the ward.”
