As part of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) is organising a free clinical breast cancer screening camp from October 13 to 20 with a view to promoting early detection and prevention.

The screening facility will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the camp at BHIO premises on Outer Ring Road in Hebbal in Mysuru. “The initiative aims to create awareness about the importance of regular check-ups and self-examination among women,” said a press statement.

Experienced oncologists and specialists from the hospital will provide free consultations, clinical breast examinations, and guidance on screening methods such as mammography, said the statement adding that educational sessions will also be conducted to help women understand the symptoms, risk factors, and lifestyle changes that can reduce the chances of developing breast cancer.

The hospital is offering a 50% discount on mammography. It encourages women of all age groups, especially those above 40 to take advantage of this opportunity and prioritise their health. For further details or to book an appointment, contact – 0821-2300600 / 2300606, the statement added.
