P.A. Mohammed Kunju passes away

Former head of the department of Paediatric Neurology, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, P.A. Mohammed Kunju passed away on Thursday night. He was 65. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Kunju had been undergoing cancer treatment. The burial was held at the Nedumbram Juma Masjid at his native place in Thiruvalla.

He developed the department of Paediatric Cardiology at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital and initiated a newborn screening programme at the hospital. He has authored several books on neurology and epilepsy and has served as the editor of the IAP Textbook of Paediatric Neurology. He had won the State government’s Best Doctor Award in 2016.
