Manufacturing sector is set to play a central role in helping achieve Telangana’s vision of shaping it into a $3 trillion economy by 2047, a senior official of the State government told the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conference held here on Friday.

The State consistently ranks among the top achievers in industrial growth and aims to double its contribution to the national GDP from 5% to 10%, IT and Industries Secretary Sanjay Kumar said while addressing the ‘Man’Exe-2025’ conference, organised by the CII Telangana.

He said this while highlighting the progress the State has made on the Ease of Doing Business front, skilling initiatives and provision of world-class infrastructure. Telangana is firmly focused on achieving the $3 trillion economy vision. AI Hub of global quality, Skill University and industrial parks dedicated to MSMEs and women entrepreneurs, are some of the latest and upcoming initiatives of the government, reaffirming its commitment to fostering innovation, quality and inclusive growth, CII-TG said in a release on his speech at the programme.

Benefits and challenges of emerging technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence, and the need for collective efforts to make most of the opportunities were underscored by industry leaders from the manufacturing sector, who addressed the conference, the 21st in the series, with ‘Building resilience: overcoming disruptions and ensuring the future growth of manufacturing’ as its theme.

CEO – AI Division of Mahindra Group Bhuvan Lodha said that AI has moved beyond experimentation to become “vital in everything from productivity and quality to supply chain and operations.”
