The Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) is eyeing to seize global investment opportunities at the upcoming India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 by showcasing its growth plans at the mega event scheduled to be held from October 27 to 31 in Mumbai.

As an initial step, the CoPA presented an expansion plan at a meeting of stakeholders in the maritime industry held at Willingdon Island on Tuesday.

A key component of the presentation was the CoPA’s ambitious plan to develop a mega cruise terminal, a CoPA official said. A detailed project report on the proposed terminal is being prepared. The plan covers proposals to expand the capacity of the Ernakulam and Mattancherry wharves and set up additional firefighting facilities for liquid cargoes. “We will have the opportunity to present our projects at the IMW and network with global players in the field. The presentations and interactions should help when we invite tenders for the new projects,” a port official said.

CoPA Chairperson B. Kasiviswanathan and traffic manager Himanshu Shekhar spoke. IMW 2025 is organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
