A case was registered and an investigation launched into the theft of liquor bottles worth ₹6,600 from a premium outlet at Muvattupuzha near Kochi, Keralam, officials said on Thursday (October 22, 2026).

The theft took place at a State-run Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) outlet along MC Road between 6.30 pm and 11 pm on October 20, officials said.

The theft came to light when KSBC officials checked the stock on October 21.

The FIR was registered under Section 305(e) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for theft of property belonging to the government agency, based on a complaint by KSBC officials.

The police are examining CCTV footage to identify those behind the theft and suspect that more than one person was involved, officials said.
