The Elamakkara police have arrested a 41-year-old woman for allegedly murdering her husband, a 31-year-old migrant worker, whose body was found on railway tracks near Edappally on Saturday (October 17).

The police suspect that the woman allegedly assaulted the man, who was heavily drunk, to death as he had allegedly attempted to abuse her teenaged daughter from her first marriage. She then reportedly dumped his body on the tracks, police sources said.

According to the first information report, the body was spotted on the railway tracks around 1.20 a.m. on Saturday by the loco pilot of Amritha Express, who reported it to the police.

The police initially registered a case over unnatural death, and further investigation led to the arrest. The woman has been booked for murder.
