BEML, a state-owned heavy equipment manufacturer, on Wednesday (October 15, 2026) discussed opportunities for potential collaboration with a delegation from the Czech Republic led by Karel Havlíček, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

According to a statement from the Karnataka-headquartered heavy-equipment maker, the strategic engagement was aimed at deepening collaboration and “opening avenues for stronger linkages between businesses, technology providers, and advanced engineering enterprises from both countries”.

The Czech delegation outlined prospects for greater collaboration in their areas of expertise, including precision engineering, machine tools, automotive components, industrial machinery, transport technologies, and applied research.

On Tuesday (October 13, 2026), Mr. Havlíček held bilateral talks with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The two sides agreed to expand defence industrial cooperation through joint ventures and the India–Czech Joint Defence Committee.
