The Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) legal head, Ratna Singh, alleged that Delhi Police arrested CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde on Wednesday (October 14, 2026).

In a post on X, Ms. Singh said, “Delhi Police arrests Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and Ajinkya Shinde at Parliament Street Police Station in today’s Jantar Mantar case.”

She added that the charges included “trespass, bond violation, obstruction of public official’s duty, etc.”

In another post, Ms. Singh said she had been informed that the three leaders were likely to be produced before the Sub-Divisional Executive Magistrate (SEM) at Mandir Marg Police Station within an hour.

On Tuesday (October 13), Delhi Police filed an FIR against Mr. Das, Mr. Ranka and other CJP members for allegedly trespassing into the Jantar Mantar area without authorisation.

The action came hours after the activists entered the heavily barricaded protest site and raised slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Jantar Mantar was recently denotified as a designated protest site.

Mr. Das, Mr. Ranka and several other CJP members were detained early on Tuesday after allegedly entering the area in violation of prohibitory orders.
