The skill training being provided by Singareni Collieries has helped 112 youth, including 87 women candidates, of the coal mines affected areas get employment opportunities. The first batch of 55 selected women left Godavarikhani for Hyderabad on Sunday.

According to officials of the RG-I area of the Singareni Collieries, interviews were conducted for 154 candidates through the Singareni GVTC Skill Development Centre in Ramagundam–I Area recently. Of the 127 women candidates who attended the interviews, 87 were selected for employment at Foxconn in Hyderabad. Similarly, 27 male candidates attended interviews for Solar Technician positions and of them 25 were selected for employment as Solar Technicians.

Launched two years ago, the centre has been providing skill training and employment opportunities to local youth. Over the past two years, it has facilitated employment opportunities for more than 500 candidates. The centre is taking steps to provide training in courses that are in demand in the job market and link skill development with suitable employment opportunities.

Last week, Foxconn conducted special recruitment interviews for women candidates at the GVTC Skill Development Centre, where a total of 87 women were selected to work in the assembly sections for Apple EarPods and electronic components at the company’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. These opportunities in the industrial sector are expected to help local women achieve greater financial independence.

RG–I Area General Manager D. Lalith Kumar stated that 25 candidates who had undergone training in the Solar Technician course were selected for employment. He further informed that they would join L&T Company within 10 days.

He stated that Singareni is committed to equipping youth from Singareni-affected areas with the skills required to secure employment. He said that linking training with job opportunities enables youth to build a better future for themselves. He advised the selected candidates to make the best use of the opportunities offered to them, maintain discipline at work and strive for professional growth.
