BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao has urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to resolve the problems faced by students of the JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district and expedite construction of its permanent campus, sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹402 crore.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rama Rao said the project, accorded administrative approval in 2021, was yet to take off despite 20 acres having been allotted at Mandepalli village. The college is currently functioning temporarily on the premises of a degree college at Agraharam.

He expressed concern over proposals to shift the engineering college from its existing premises to another private building, stating that such a move could cause inconvenience to students, faculty members and other staff. He stressed the need to ensure that the classrooms, laboratories and other infrastructure already available at the present campus were not rendered redundant.

Mr. Rama Rao urged the government to release the necessary funds and expedite construction at the site allotted at Mandepalli.

The BRS leader appealed to the Chief Minister to direct the officials concerned not to issue notices requiring the college to vacate its existing premises until suitable alternative arrangements were made.

Mr. Rama Rao said the Chief Minister should intervene immediately to prevent disruption to academic activities and protect the interests of students.
