Industries, Commerce and Food Processing Minister T.G. Bharath lauded the Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital for its contribution to providing quality eye care, particularly to poor and underprivileged sections, during his maiden visit to the Foundation on Tuesday.

Mr. Bharath appreciated the Foundation’s efforts to reduce avoidable blindness and encouraged it to establish more centres across Andhra Pradesh. He also called for greater focus on research and development, using emerging technologies and innovations in ophthalmology to improve patient care and outcomes.

Earlier, Mr. Bharath garlanded the statue of late Dr. A. Sankar Rao and paid tributes to the founder. He also inaugurated the Yeshoda Vision Knowledge Centre.

Managing Trustee and CEO A. Krishna Kumar and senior officials accompanied the Minister during his visit.
