Fire breaks out on reality show set at Goregaon Film City; no injuries reported

A fire broke out on the set of Colors channel’s reality show “Pati Patni Aur Panga Season 2” at Prime Focus Studio in Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City on Monday (October 5, 2026) afternoon, prompting a response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to information provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Level-I fire was reported at 4.02 pm at the temporary set located behind Prime Focus Studio, near Reliance Media Works in Film City, Goregaon East.

The blaze was confined to a PCR unit measuring around 100 feet by 20 feet. Electric wiring and installations, cables, doors, wooden planks, air-conditioning units, bamboo and plastic materials, a sound system and shooting-related material were among the items affected, officials said.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade extinguished the fire at 4.55 pm. Personnel from the police, the BMC ward control room and a 108 ambulance service were also mobilised.

There were no reported injuries, according to the BMC update.

Following the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), in a post on X, raised concerns over fire-safety arrangements at Film City and demanded an investigation into the incident.

AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta said in the post, “This is a very serious incident. Such incidents repeatedly raise questions about fire safety on film and television sets and the safety of workers working there.”

The association demanded that authorities investigate the cause of the fire and examine whether adequate fire-safety measures were in place at the set. It also sought action in case any negligence was found.
