Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit detailed reports on two separate incidents reported from Kurupam and Anantapur.

On Sunday (October 5, 2025), he held discussions with the Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani and senior officials regarding the two  incidents.

The Chief Minister enquired about the situation at the Kurupam Tribal Girls’ Gurukul, where dozens of students reportedly fell ill. He sought details on the measures being taken by the district administration and directed that proper medical attention be ensured.

Following Mr. Naidu’s instructions, the Minister is visiting the students undergoing treatment at Visakhapatnam’s King George Hospital. She also informed the Chief Minister that tribal welfare officials, along with the District Collector, are visiting the Parvathipuram hospital to monitor the condition of other affected students.

Mr. Naidu also discussed with Minister Sandhyarani the tragic incident at a child care centre in Anantapur, where an infant reportedly died. Mr. Naidu directed officials to conduct a thorough inquiry into both incidents and submit a detailed report at the earliest.
