Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has categorically stated that NDRF grants were not being utilised for implementation of guarantee schemes, as alleged by Leader of Opposition R. Ashok.

Speaking to press persons in Belagavi on October 4, Mr. Siddaramaiah said the success of the guarantee schemes had rattled BJP leaders, and such statements were born out of a fear of losing out.

“Rattled by the success of guarantee schemes, they have replicated the same in Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that implementation of guarantee schemes was impossible. But Congress government walked the talk,” he said.

Reacting to BJP MLC C.T. Ravi’s comment on change of CM in Karnataka, the Chief Minister said that the CM’s post is an internal matter of the Congress, and BJP need not break its head over it.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said that he had laid the foundation stone for BIMS super specialty hospital in Belagavi in the year 2017. “However, during the previous BJP regime, the work was not implemented.  Now, I am happy to have inaugurated the project for which I had laid the foundation stone,” he said.

Mr. Siddaramaiah clarified that maintenance of the super specialty hospital had not been handed over to a private entity.
