The unfinished works at around 21,000 double bed room houses in Hyderabad (CURE) were completed. Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed officials to complete the draw of lots to select beneficiaries by the end of the month (September).

The 21,000 double bedroom houses (2BHK) are located in 26 areas within the Core Urban Region (CURE). People living within five to seven kilometres of the houses should be selected, said Mr. Reddy at a video conference held with Collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy and Medchal districts, and officials from Electricity, Water Works and Housing Departments on Saturday (September 19). He said that the works were left unfinished by the previous government.

They were directed to ensure basic resources, including water, electricity supply and sanitation, are provided by the end of October.

People who were earlier allotted the 2BHKs but not staying there may receive another notice as the Housing Minister issued instructions to this effect. If there is no response to a notice, the allotment should be canceled and another beneficiary has to be selected, he said.
