Fort Catholic Girls’ School held an inter-school fancy drill competition at the Police Barracks grounds in the city on Saturday (September 19, 2026) as part of ongoing celebrations to mark 175 years of the institution. Five schools competed alongside the host institution.

Sr. Rose, former Provincial of St. Joseph of Annecy, Visakhapatnam Province, was the guest of honour.

Participants included St. John’s Parish School, St. Aloysius Anglo Indian High School, St. Joseph’s High School (Waltair), Queen Mary’s High School and St. Joseph’s High School, Araku. The themes ranged from a Japanese fan drill to “Wings of Tomorrow” and an anti-drug awareness sequence.

St. Joseph’s High School, Araku, won the Overall Championship trophy and the Best Synchronisation award for its presentation on substance abuse. St. Aloysius Anglo Indian High School and St. Joseph’s High School, Waltair, shared the Runners-up Cup, while St. John’s Parish School secured third place. The host school’s non-competing entry was themed “Darkness to Light, Roots to Wings”.

Alumni members served as torchbearers, and Sr. Rose distributed the prizes.
