The much-awaited initial public offering (IPO) of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) is now open for subscription. This ends a wait of around a decade, as the bourse initially planned to go public in 2016. Ahead of the IPO, the NSE garnered Rs 6,746 crore from anchor investors. State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Goldman Sachs and Fidelity were among the key investors. According to a circular uploaded on the BSE website, NSE allotted over 3.77 crore shares to 150 anchor investors at Rs 1,785 apiece, the upper end of its IPO price band. This takes the transaction size to Rs 6,746.2 crore.
The Rs 1,000-crore Hero Motors Ltd IPO was fully subscribed on the first day of bidding. According to the data available on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the IPO received bids for 12,26,40,042 shares against 8,86,07,596 shares on offer.
