Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed concern over the conduct of a few MLAs in the Legislative Assembly, emphasising that it is the responsibility of the in-charge Ministers to guide and coordinate them.
Speaking after the Cabinet meeting on Friday, the Chief Minister underlined the need for close collaboration between the MLAs and their respective Ministers to ensure smooth functioning.
Mr. Naidu directed that in the future, in-charge Ministers should take total responsibility for maintaining discipline among the MLAs and preventing repeated lapses.
During discussions with the Cabinet members, Mr. Naidu focused on key upcoming events, including preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘s meeting scheduled on October 16, stressing the importance of its success.
He instructed the Ministers to communicate the benefits of GST reforms effectively to the public and to respond firmly to criticisms related to their departments.
Mr. Naidu also highlighted the potential of the ‘Poorvodaya’ scheme, which could bring ₹65,000 crore to the State’s horticulture and aquaculture sectors, and suggested organising events such as Vijayawada Utsav across all the regions to promote local festivals and development initiatives.
